KASUR: Murderers of seven-year-old Zainab, who was kidnapped and murdered after being raped in Kasur, are still at large despite police personnel's several raids.
Banners, demanding the Punjab government to nab the culprits as early possible, are placed across the metropolis while the residents are also criticizing inappropriate security arrangements.
The minor girl was abducted on January 4 from Kasur's Kot Road area. Five days after her disappearance, she was found raped, dead and buried in a garbage dump on Jan 09.
The gory Kasur incident shattered the entire nation, triggering widespread public outrage with people from all walks of life demanding an exemplary punishment for the culprit.
Violent protests erupted in the city following the incident, resulting in the death of two people in police firing outside DC office.

The incident blew the lid on the horrifying reality of how children in a brutalized society are vulnerable to sexual abuse.
Earlier on Saturday, a new CCTV footage of the suspect involved in Zainab murder case surfaced in which he can be seen roaming outside the victim's residence. The culprit is wearing a coat over shalwar-kameez and a cap on his head.
The footage shows the suspect walking in the market on January 4 and on the same day he can been seen anxiously moving around Zainab's house around 5:26pm.
Investigators have collected significant data through geo-fencing. The people suspected to be involved in the rape and murder of the seven-year-old girl included those who departed from her residence and passed by it.
The investigators said the new video will help them make headway in the case.
Punjab Chief Minister's advisor Dr Umer Saif published the report pertaining to the developments made in the case.
The DNA test points towards a serial killer as the recent incident has much similarity with previous mishaps.
Zainab's medical report confirmed ample evidence of assault and rape on the little girl's body. She had torture marks on nose, neck, and other parts of the body as the rapist slit her wrists and choked her to death.
The Zainab's rape-cum-murder is said to be 12th incident in the city where minor girls have been murdered before being subjected to sexual assault. - NNI
