Destruction ceremony by Pakistan Customs

KARACHI: Collector of Customs Preventive, Karachi Iftikhar Ahmed said, Pakistan Customs will not tolerate shipment of illicit goods that could endanger our society health, safety and security.
"We are combating cross-border crime, including the illicit funding of international terrorism through trade activities, is our responsibility, and one that Customs takes seriously in its efforts to ensure a "safe" and secure business environment," he saide while addressing the "Destruction Ceremony" of Pakistan Customs on the eve of International Customs Day, here at Customs Colony, Mauripur.
Thereafter, all distinguished guests including law enforcement agencies representatives, Diplomatic Corps were requested to join the destruction site wherein the smuggled/contraband goods including liquor, beer cans, narcotics, gutka, assorted medicines etc. were burnt.
These smuggled goods are brought here by three Custom Collectorates of Gwadar, Preventive and Customs Intelligence.
Consul General of Germany, Vogel and Russian Consulate General appreciated the Pakistan Customs efforts in striving to create a suitable environment for business, facing challenges, showcasing projects with their best communication practices.
